Peter de Blois

TENOR

Tenor 2

I joined the youth choir in 1983 and remained in it until 1992. I was also a member of Voices New Zealand. Later I became Assistant Music Director of Youth Choir for 2 years and traveled with the choir on their tour of Texas where we were a guest choir at the ACD Convention in San Antonio. I have been a member of Ely Cathedral Choir, Britten Pears Chamber Choir, Cambridge University Chamber Choir, Tudor Concert (including being Assistant Musical Director), Baroque Voices, and the close harmony group Shades of Blue. I have worked as a soloist in both NZ and UK where I specialised in Baroque repertoire. For 27 years I was involved in Anglican cathedral music culminating in 10 years as Director of Music at Holy Trinity Cathedral, Auckland. I was a Music Examiner for Trinity College London for 8 years and enjoyed examining all around South East Asia. In 2012 I retrained as a secondary music teacher and have taught in Wellington, Porirua, London, Cornwall, and am now Head of Music at Southland Girls’ High School in Invercargill where I direct a Year 9-13 all-comers’ choir and co-direct our Year 9-13 auditioned choir Femme.
