Cantaburian Kimberley Wood loves music and especially singing.

Studying piano and saxophone during her time at St Margaret’s College (and a bit of Spanish), she joined the Christchurch Youth Choir and later the NZ Secondary Students’ Choir for 2013-14. At University of Canterbury where she is studying towards a Bachelor of Music, she joined the resident choir Consortia. She also teaches barbershop at St Margaret’s in her spare time.

Kimberley joined NZYC in 2017. 

Nathaniel is from Dunedin.

He was a member of NZ Secondary Students’ Choir.

Nathaniel is studying a BMus at Otago University. He also plays the violin.

Leo is from Auckland.

Leo is currently a member of Auckland Chamber Choir.

He attended Rangitoto College and is currently studying a BMus (Composition and Voice) at Otago University.

Nicolas is currently pursuing a PhD in Bioengineering at the University of Canterbury. An active member of the Christchurch music scene, Nicolas is regularly involved with award-winning groups across choral, barbershop, opera, and contemporary a cappella genres. Nicolas is the current NZYC board representative to Choirs Aotearoa, the Manager of Quantum Acoustics chorus, and the treasurer of the Christchurch Youth Choir. In his free moments, Nicolas enjoys the storytelling of his regular Dungeons & Dragons game.

Riley is from Auckland.

Riley attended Westlake Boys’ High School and is currently a BCom/BMus at the University of Auckland.

Riley also works for Crimson Education and plays U-19s football for Takapuna.

After graduating from Epsom Girls Grammar, Sophie began her studies at Auckland University for a BMus in Classical Voice.

She is a member of the Auckland University Chamber Choir and plays the piano.

Sophie joined NZYC in 2017.

Thomas is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Auckland, completing a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music conjoint majoring in Classical Trumpet and History. He began singing during primary school and took part in the auditioned choirs during primary and secondary school. In early 2017 he was selected for the 2017-19 cycle of NZYC, including the end-of-cycle cruise tour around the Pacific in 2019. Thomas currently lives in Auckland. He has a major passion for all things music and enjoys everything historical. He also loves to compete in pub quizzes and trivia!

Mark is from Auckland.

Mark attended Aorere College.

He was a member of NZSSC from 2011-12 and The Graduate Choir from 2009-12.

Alice attended St Mary’s College and is now a student at Auckland University studying for a BMus in Voice Performance and a Bachelor of Science.

Alice performed in ‘The Divas’ at the Opera Factory and at th south Auckland Performing Arts Competitions in 2015. She is a member of the Auckland Chamber Choir and Accord.

Alice also plays piano and violin.

Sharon is a Psychologist who specialises in supporting people with Autism, Learning Disabilties and Developmental Delays.  She has had vocal coaching for a number of years and also sings with Bach Musica.
